Seatrade Groningen B.V is an international shipping company with a global food print for more than 70 years. Specialized in refrigerated cargo transport. Seatrade has expanded its ship owning and ship management activities into a variety of worldwide trades with a Shipmanagement office in Groningen and Vado (Italy) and a commercial office in Breda.

Due to retirement of a colleague at the Crew Recourse Management Department we are currently looking for a:

Crewing Coordinator

What we are looking for

A person with a growth mindset, resilient to repetitive work which at the same time is seldom exactly the same, a good sense for formality and compliance and empathy for the seafaring profession.

What you will do

The Crew Resource Management department is responsible for having, all vessels in management, manned with sufficient and capable officers and ratings as well as all administrative and logistic matters in planning, placing and wellbeing of crew onboard the vessels and on leave.

The Department consists of a team of Crewing Coordinators and a Crewing Compliance Coordinator, led by the Manager Crewing.

After a period of familiarisation you will take care and be responsible for crewing of a group of vessels. This entails amongst others frequent international contact by telephone and email, with Crewing agents, vessels staff, port agents, shipping inspection etc. Another important aspect is keeping track of the budget developments and report on the same. You will carry out the consequential administrative follow-up on your various activities. You will report directly to the Manager Crewing.

What we require

  • Diploma in a maritime discipline
  • Professional experience within the maritime industry in a similar position, seagoing experience is an advantage
  • Team player and cost-conscious organizer, who takes responsibility for crew
  • Cross culture awareness and good communication skills on different levels within the company
  • Good people- and coaching skills and IT literate
  • Strong affinity with new developments and self motivated to improve own knowledge level
  • Excellent written and spoken knowledge of the English language
  • A proven interest in the field of Crew Resource management / Human Resources
  • The position entails for the successful candidate to be based in the vicinity of Groningen
  • Able to work in compliance with our Seatrade Standards
  • EU citizen or otherwise in possession of a Dutch work visa
